While talking to Ravichandran Ashwin on the YouTube show ‘Kutti Stories with Ash’, Ravi Shastri praised Virat Kohli. He said Kohli may not have won any IPL title but he brings a lot of energy to the tournament.

“Dhoni and Rohit are very similar. Calm, collected. You know, they are masters at what they do and are very, very successful. They have both won five times. Virat, on the other hand, may not have won the IPL, but he what it brings is different again. You know there’s energy. You know it’s in your face,” he said.

“You know the quality of batting in one of the two outstanding IPLs of 2016. So you know people don’t forget it. Also, in that team, there was De Villiers, there was Chris Gayle. Then suddenly, next for that team went up again,” added Ravi Shastri.

“And when you look at Mumbai and Chennai, they have always had very experienced players and they have had a lot of experience. So the following becomes very high,” he concluded.
