Its performance will definitely make its stock rise before it falls under the hammer.
The upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) auction, scheduled for later this month on November 24-25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, will see all ten franchises revamp their squad in a bid to strengthen it for the next season.
Ahead of the mega auction, a released Mumbai Indians star made headlines with an impressive bowling display in the ongoing Ranji Trophy.
Shams Mulani, who was bought by the five-time champions in the IPL 2023 auction for his base price of INR 20 lakhs, only featured in two matches during IPL 2024.
However, his recent performance in the Ranji Trophy, where he took a stellar 11-wicket haul in a match between Mumbai and Odisha, will definitely see his stock rise before he goes under the hammer.
Shams Mulani’s performance helps Mumbai earn bonus point
Mulani’s impressive 5/71 today (November 9) enabled Mumbai to claim Odisha’s remaining five wickets within 119 minutes of the day’s play. This innings win by 103 runs also earned Mumbai a valuable bonus point, providing a much-needed boost after a difficult start to the season. In the first innings, Mulani also showed his ability with a six-wicket haul.
In his first-class (FC) career, Shams Mulani now has 15 five-wicket hauls and seven ten-wicket match hauls. Talking about his FC statistics, he has taken 213 wickets at an average of 24.10.
In the current Ranji season, the 27-year-old has secured 23 wickets in 4 matches for Mumbai at an average of 25.47, including two five-wicket hauls.
