Pant had earlier retired on Day 2 after taking a knock on his knee.
In a big boost for the Indian team, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was seen taking batting practice on Day 3 of the ongoing IND vs NZ Test.
Notably, Pant had left the field the previous day after receiving a blow on his knee and the BCCI also announced that he will not keep wickets on Day 3. Incidentally, he received a blow on the same knee on which he had undergone a surgery after his horrible car accident.
With anticipation surrounding Pant’s fitness, the dynamic left-hander put an end to all speculation when he was seen batting during the tea break today.
Not only that, Pant looked comfortable with the bat in his hand and to the delight of the crowd at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, he also hit some sixes towards them.
In the absence of Rishabh Pant, Dhruv Jurel took over the evil maintenance responsibilities.

Star script comeback from India; puts pressure on New Zealand again
Talking about the match, the Indian team planned a stellar comeback after their horror batting show in the first innings, where they ended up posting their lowest total in Tests at home (46 in all).
Although the Kiwis managed to capitalize after India’s first innings, scoring 402 and taking a lead of 356 runs, by the end of Day 3, the Indian batsmen had reduced it to 125 runs.
Captain Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave India a solid start in the second innings with a 72-run stand.
However, after both the openers departed, it was the duo of Virat Kohli and Sarfaraz Khan who created a game-changing 136 runs and brought India back into the contest.
