He led the team to a series victory after winning the fourth Test which was played at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association Stadium in Ranchi. Rohit Sharma led an inexperienced team in the absence of key players like Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, with Ravindra Jadeja missing the second Test and Jasprit Bumrah missing the fourth Test. Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina draws similarities between Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni’s captaincy.

According to Raina, Rohit Sharma is heading in the right direction and is a brilliant captain.

Rohit Sharma became the first captain to beat Bazball in a Test series. The strategy of ben stokes and Brendon McCullum was undefeated before this series. India also recorded their 17th consecutive Test series win at home as they have been unbeaten at home since 2012. Rohit Sharma has also performed well with the bat, scoring 297 runs in 4 matches including a century and a half. He scored 131 in the first innings of the third Test match at Rajkot and 55 in the second innings of the fourth Test match at Ranchi.
India and England will now lock horns in the fifth and final Test match of the series to be played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. The fifth test match is a stalemate in terms of the test series but both sides will give their best to win the test match and improve their PCT in the WTC points table.
