Sai Sudharsan surpasses Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle to become fastest to 2000 runs in IPL history

Gujarat Titans youngster Sai Sudharsan has been an asset to the team ever since he was recruited by this team. Now he has broken the old record of the great Chris Gayle in the IPL.

The Gujarat Titans have found a truly magnificent player in the form of Tamil Nadu batsman Sai Sudharsan, who has been a consistent batsman performing for them in all the Titans games. He has formed one of the most successful opening pairs with captain Shubman Gill.

Sudharsan was the highest run-getter in the previous edition of the IPL where he accumulated more than 750 runs and managed to lead his home team to the playoffs and also played his part in the knockout match against Mumbai.

Sai Sudharsan breaks Chris Gayle’s huge IPL record

The Gujarat Titans came to Chinnaswamy after a humiliating defeat at their home ground, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Left-handed opener Sai Sudharsan was dismissed for a golden duck in the last game but had arrived at Chinnaswamy to change his fortunes.

One of the best batting tracks in India, Chinnaswamy is known for favoring batsmen but no one expected Sudharsan to break the record of one of the most explosive players who played most of his games for this franchise at this venue.

Sudharsan reached 2000 runs in IPL cricket and became the batsman who broke former RCBian Chris Gayle’s legendary record. The West Indian had reached the milestone in 48 innings in his career, while Sudharsan achieved the feat in his 47th innings in the IPL.
