During the KCC T20 Challengers Cup 2024 match between Kuwait Nationals and SBS CC, Nationals bowler Muhammad Waqar Anjum bowled the new edition of the ‘ball of the century’ to dismiss SBS CC batsman Beant Singh. While he is an Australian legend and a veteran player Shane Warneknown for throwing the “ball of the century” to say goodbye to greats England hitter Mike Gatting. The ball darted off the leg stump and spun away to hit the top of the stump.
On the second ball of the 12th over of the second innings, Muhammad Waqar Anjum bowled a delivery off the outside leg stump to which Beant Singh moved to the leg side to hit the ball. However, he moved away from offside and hit the top of leg stump.

Although the match was reduced to 17 overs per innings, batting first in the match, the Kuwait Nationals were able to post a score of 184/7, courtesy of a century from opener Ahmed Khalid Hafiz. He played an innings of 129 runs off 55 balls that included 11 fours and 10 sixes. Hafiz along with his partner Muhammad Nouman Jamil 39 runs for the first wicket in just 3 overs. However, Jamil got out for 10 runs off 7 balls.
While Ahmed Khalid Hafiz managed runs from the other end, no other batsman could cross the 10-run mark. Nabeel Shahid Butt (5), Muhammad Waqar Anjum (5), Muhammad Naeem Razzaq (0), Muhammad Asim Sandhu (1) and Mohammad-Bastaki (2) were dismissed cheaply.
Lakhwinder Singh and Nirmal Singh picked up 2 wickets with the ball for SBS CC, while Abdul Razzaq and Yusaf Mohammed picked up 1 wicket each.
SBS CC lost their first wicket by just 1 run as Murugan Madhu backed away for a duck. Lakhwinder Singh too could not do much and got out for 14 runs. Nirmal Singh hit runs for SBS CC and played 94 innings off 54 balls. Nirmal scored a total of 4 fours and 9 sixes during his stay at the crease.
Abdul Razzaq, Beant Singh, Riyaz Manaf, Yusaf Mohammed, Badshah Ahmed and Pardeep Singh were dismissed cheaply without scoring many runs. In the end, Kuwait Nationals proved to be more for SBS CC and won the match by 14 runs.
