Shah Rukh Khan had come down to celebrate at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai where KKR won their second IPL title and third overall in history. The co-owner was seen taking a victory lap with the team after his team defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in a one-sided final.

Harshit Rana, who bowled very well in the final, was an important part of the celebration and in one of the video clips he can be seen enjoying himself with Shah Rukh Khan. Rana and Shah Rukh were seen doing the famous Flying Kiss celebration to celebrate their IPL title. That particular celebration is now going viral on all social media platforms.

What did Harshit Rana say about the celebration?

Harshit Rana was interviewed at length by the Indian Express after winning the IPL title in Chennai last Sunday. There, the no-holds-barred seamer was asked about many things, from his personal life to his journey in the Indian Premier League. One of the questions was about the flying kiss celebration that Shah Rukh Khan attempted with him.

The King of Bollywood joined the KKR players in celebrating after greeting the crowd that had turned up in large numbers at the Chepauk stadium. Given the type of personality Shah Rukh Khan is, it was very natural to see him giving it back to the people who supported the Knight Riders throughout the season.

Shah Rukh Khan has also been very supportive of the team regardless of their situation during the league and that is one of the main reasons why KKR was able to win. The Bollywood actor had also joined Harshit Rana for the celebrations and that was when the former made the flying kiss gesture towards the camera.

It became a viral moment and when Harshit Rana was interviewed by the Indian Express, the right-arm seamer revealed why Shah Rukh Khan did it. Rana stated that SRK had come to him after being given a 1-match ban during the league stages and had told him about celebrating together after Kolkata won IPL 2024.

“Yes, after I got banned from a match, I was very sad and then SRK’s sir came to me and said, ‘We will celebrate the IPL with a flying kiss’, he promised me and made sure we did it with the Trophy”. – Rana told the Indian Express.

Why is the celebration of the Flying Kiss so controversial?

The flying kiss celebration was made famous and infamous by Harshit Rana himself during the IPL 2024 league stage. Rana organized the celebration for the first time when KKR met SRH for the first time in the 2024 season. He had given him a kiss flying at Mayank Agarwal for which Rana was fined one per cent of his match fee.

Then during a reverse clash between KKR and RCB, Harshit Rana almost attempted the same celebration and that’s why he was thrown out of a game. During his appearance in the IPL final, Rana had figures of 2/24 from his quota of 4 overs.
