Pakistan cricket team leader Shaheen Afridi has posted a cryptic message amid reports of misconduct with coaches. The left-handed cricketer is reportedly being investigated by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for his misconduct in the team.

Things are not going well for Pakistan cricket at the moment and the PCB is taking some important decisions to put the house in order. Last month, Pakistan bowed out of the T20 World Cup in the group stage after suffering defeats against the USA and India. Before that, they had lost the T20I series in England and had also lost a T20I in Ireland.

Earlier this week, the PCB sacked former cricketers Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq after the team’s poor performance in the T20 World Cup. Moreover, the PCB also sacked team manager Mansoor Rana. Rana was reportedly sacked because he did not take any action against Shaheen Afridi for his misconduct.

Shaheen Afridi’s cryptic post:

Pakistani media reported that Shaheen Afridi misbehaved with batting coach Mohammad Yousuf during the tour of England in May. They were involved in a verbal spat and the bowler later had to apologise in front of the team. Although the Pakistani team management dismissed the matter after the apology, the PCB has launched an investigation.

Amidst all the drama, Shaheen Afridi finally broke his silence with a cryptic social media post on Thursday (July 11). He took to X (formerly Twitter) to post a video of himself throwing down on social media with the caption, “Rise Above.”

Things have not been going too well for Shaheen Afridi this year. Earlier in the year, he was the captain of the Pakistan T20I team but was sacked from the post after just one series. In April this year, the PCB removed him as captain and reinstated Babar Azam as the T20I captain.

Afridi did not have the best of campaigns in the T20 World Cup either. He did not pick up any wicket against the United States before picking up just one against India. He picked up four wickets in the last two matches but his efforts were not enough for Pakistan to qualify for the Super 8. He could be seen in action next month when Pakistan hosts Bangladesh for a Test series.
