TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 Match No. 24, Mumbai Indians (MI) hosted Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to play first. During the match, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer combined with Xavier Bartlett to take a teamwork catch and dismiss Hardik Pandya.

MI made two forced changes as Rohit Sharma was injured and Mitchell Santner was unwell, and Quinton de Kock and Mayank Rawat came on for the Blues. After winning the toss, it was an incredible start for the Punjab team as MI were reduced to 12/2 in the space of two balls. With Arshdeep Singh picking up both the wickets.
QDK turns a century on its return
De Kock and Naman Dhir forged a 123 partnership between the two. Quinton De Kock made a century and finished with an unbeaten score of 112 runs, and Naman Dhir also scored a fifty in the match; All other MI batsmen failed as five-time winners.
Mumbai could only reach 195/6 in their 20 overs, and the Kings will be happy with the score, as it was Mumbai who looked very dangerous when Naman and QDK were batting, and a score of over 200 looked very possible. Arshdeep Singh was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3/22 in his four overs.
MI batsmen falter again
For MI, the fight continued for Suryakumar Yadav as he came back for a golden duck. He has not managed to score many runs in this edition of the IPL. The Indian team captain has scored 106 runs at an average of 21.20.
Barring Naman Dhir and QDK, no other Mumbai batsman could surpass the score of 20 runs, and it has been a worry for the team as they have faltered in the middle overs, costing them losing games.
PBKS, while chasing, got off to a good start with Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimaran Singh scoring at a good pace, and they were 26/0 after the end of two overs. If Mumbai loses this game, they will be out of the playoff race as they have lost three of the four matches.
