Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has been appointed as an adviser to the new Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Zaka Ashraf, according to Cricket Pakistan. The development has been done keeping in mind the focus on cricket affairs in the country.
Misbah-ul-Haq will be acting as an advisor on a fee-based basis, which means that he will not charge a penny for his services to the printed circuit board President Zaka Ashraf. It is known that he was offered a full-time position in the governing body, but he turned it down due to his other commitments.

Misbah-ul-Haq himself decided to take the role of adviser and share his experience and knowledge to improve cricket in Pakistan, especially domestic cricket. He met with President Zaka Ashraf and the duo discussed the role, considering cricket in the country.
Misbah-ul-Haq was the selector and head coach of Pakistan from 2019 to 2021. He stepped down when Ramiz Raja became PCB Chairman in the same year. He took on the dual role after the team’s poor performance in the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

SL vs PAK: PCB have not contacted me yet – Misbah-ul-Haq
Misbah-ul-Haq mentioned earlier this month that he has not been contacted by PCB for any roles and even if they are offered, he will not be able to take them on immediately due to his commitments. He said:
“I have not been contacted by PCB so far. When they contact me, I’ll see it. I already have many previous commitments, either with leagues or with television channels. It will not be easy to immediately take up a position in the Pakistani squad. I will have to see what role will be offered and if I could do it or not.
