South Africa has named its squad for the T20 World Cup. They have several players in form after their recent stint in IPL 2024. All the players in the team are fit and raring to go as they look to end their title-less campaign in ICC events. This time, they have enough depth in their batting line-up to challenge the bowlers of all teams.

South Africa will be under a bit of pressure after losing the T20I series against the West Indies ahead of the World Cup.

South Africa Playing 11 vs Sri Lanka – ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Match 4

Quinton de Kock (WK)

De Kock will open the batting for South Africa. He didn’t have the best IPL season and also struggled in the T20I series. He plays only one format and would love to win the World Cup before retiring.

Reeza Hendricks

Hendricks will open the batting with De Kock. He led the team in the absence of the regular players against the West Indies and batted well. He will have a key role to play with the bat.

Aiden Markram (C)

Markram, the captain will bat at three. He didn’t play too many matches for SRH in the IPL. After a break, he should come back fresh. He replaces Temba Bavuma as captain of the T20I team.

Tristan Stubbs

Stubbs taxi bats at four. He thrived in that position batting for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024, scoring 378 runs at a strike rate of 190. South Africa may look to give him a longer career starting in the World Cup.

David Miller

Miller will be located at five. He is among the best middle-order batsmen in T20I cricket and loves to bat at that number. The left-hander is a proven player and will back himself to perform for the national team.

Heinrich Klaasen

Klaasesn will enter at six. He scored almost 500 runs in the IPL this season with a strike rate of 170 and 38 sixes. His role will be to take on the spinners in the middle.

Marco Jansen

Jansen can come in at seven. He is a good all-rounder with a lot of potential with bat and ball. His ability to swing the new ball also makes him a good choice for bowling.

Geraldine Coetzee

Coetzee can bat at eight. He has a reputation of being a great batsman in the lower order and can bowl consistently at 140. His pace can unsettle the Lankan batsmen.

Keshav Maharaj

Marahraj can bat at nine and will be one of the two main spinners. He recently played in the IPL. The left-arm spinner is an experienced wrestler and will be crucial in the middle overs.

Kagiso Rabada

Rabada will lead the pace attack for South Africa. He and Anrich Nortje are the two fastest bowlers in this competition. He did not have a good IPL season ending with just 11 wickets this season.

Tabraiz Shamsi

The leggie concludes the probable playing XI for South Africa. He and Maharaj play well together and hence he is a key part of the bowling attack.
