South Africa have announced their teams for the upcoming T20I, ODI and Test series against India at home. The Proteas will host India for three T20Is, as many ODIs and two Tests. The T20I series will kick off India’s tour of South Africa later this week.
Captain Temba Bavuma and fast bowler Kagiso Rabada have been rested for the white-ball series and will return to action during the Test series, which begins on December 26. In Bavuma’s absence, Aiden Markram will lead the ODI team and the T20I team. against India. Markram also coached the Proteas during the World Cup when Bavuma was absent due to illness.

All-rounder Nadre Burger earned his first call-up and has been named in all three teams, while Mihlali Mpongwana and David Bedingham earned their first ODI and Test call-ups respectively. Tristan Stubbs has also been included in the Test squad, while Verreynne has been withdrawn for the ODI and Test series.
Gerald Coetzee, Marco Jansen and Lungi Ngidi will play in the first two T20Is before being rested for the Test series. None of them have been named in the ODI squad. After the two T20Is, the trio will play the First Class matches from December 14 to 17. Meanwhile, Anrich Nortje and Wayne Parnell are yet to recover from their injuries and have not been named in any of the three teams.
