For the second game in a row, Rajat Patidar scored a fifty in IPL 2024 as his brilliant knock gave Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s innings the much-needed boost in the ongoing game against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Batting first, RCB got off to a fast start with Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis adding 48 runs in less than four overs. T Natarajan broke the stand by dismissing du Plessis for 25. The RCB captain’s dismissal slowed the pace of the run as RCB finished the powerplay at 61 for 1.

SRH further strengthened their grip on the game when Mayank Markande dismissed Will Jacks in the seventh over to reduce RCB to 66 for 2. RCB desperately needed a quick hit from one of their batsmen and Rajat Patidar rose to the occasion.

The right-handed batsman fired on all cylinders from the beginning and completed his fifty in just 19 balls. The highlight of the knock was the way he took Mayank Markande to the cleaners and hit him for four sixes in a row. In the 11th over, the right-handed batsman went all out against the leg-spinner. After Virat Kohli took a single to give Rajat Patidar the strike, the RCB batsman hit Markande for four sixes in a row.
