Rajasthan Royals (RR) batsman Shimron Hetmyer did not have the kind of outing he would have liked in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The 50th match of the tournament took place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Shimron Hetmyer could not take his team home against Rajasthan Royals as he passed away at the crucial stage of the game while his team was chasing 202 runs. When he came up to bat, he was expected to take his team home as he looked solid.

Shimron Hetmyer played some sharp shots in his innings and of all, his six off T Natarajan stole the show. The left-hander delivered a magnificent blow and had almost everyone applauding him for his effort at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

It was during the first ball of the 18th over that T Natarajan bowled a slower ball into the slot. Shimron Hetmyer came down the track and bowled it from distance for a clean six, covering 106 metres. The batsman, however, seemed amazed and then gave a hilarious reaction.

However, after those six, Shimron Hetmyer could not make much of an impact with the bat as he died in the same off T Natarajan. After hitting the huge six, he came under pressure and played two dot balls in the next two balls of the over.

In the fourth ball of the over, T Natarajan removed him. The pacer bowled a full delivery which Shimron Hetmyer bowled straight to the defender at long on. The batsman managed 13 runs off 9 balls and his wicket saw Rajasthan Royals lose their fifth wicket.

After getting out, Rovman Powell (27) gave his best with the bat and took the game to the last over. However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar oozed class with the ball and secured the match for his team. With 2 runs needed off the last ball, the pacer removed the batsman and won the game for his team by 1 run.

Cummins and Bhuvi showed their class in the end: Travis Head after Sunrisers Hyderabad win

Travis Head, who played a magnificent innings of 58 runs, was elated with the way his team won the game. He was amazed by the way Pat Cummins and Bhuvneshwar Kumar played in the end and said it was a good win for them after two losses.

Travis Head further added that it was a challenging wicket but the team’s two senior pacers exuded class with the ball. While he was talking about the same, he stated:

“It’s a good win, probably one we didn’t expect at the end. Cummins and Bhuvi showed their class at the end and got us a good win. We’ve been playing well, we’ve had a couple of losses, good for the energy.

“It was a challenge but with the wicket and the way Pat bowled the 19th, he would be disappointed with the last ball, but classy at the end, two class players, two of the old guys. Very pleased with the win. I thought that (201) was a great score,” he concluded.
