Sri Lanka needs to come back in the ENG vs SL Test series and is ready to put up an impressive show in the upcoming match. The second ENG vs SL 2024 Test will be held at Lord’s in London.
Led by Dhananjaya de Silva, Sri Lanka failed to get off to a winning start despite a good performance in the last match.
Now, they need to prepare themselves otherwise they will lose the series after two matches. Below is the expected starting XI for Sri Lanka’s second match.

Dimuth Karunaratne
Dimuth Karunaratne could be Sri Lanka’s opener in the next game as he has a lot of experience in the longer format.
He didn’t manage to put in a great performance in the last match, but he was hoping to put in a good performance in the next one.
Nishan Madushka
Nishan Madushka completely failed with the bat in the last match, getting out for 0 and 4. She will be aiming for a better show.
Kusal Mendis
Kusal Mendis scored 24 runs in the last match but could not continue the innings. Mendis will look to do better in the final match.

Angelo Mathews
Angelo Mathews was out for a duck in the first innings but made a wonderful comeback with 65 in the second innings. He can also bowl overs for the team.
Sadeera Samarawickrama (holy week)
Sadeera Samarawickrama will replace Dinesh Chandimakl in the upcoming match as the latter was injured in the last match. Sadeera has been an excellent batsman in the middle order.
Dhananjaya de Silva (C)
Dhananjaya de Silva is the captain of Sri Lanka in the ENG vs SL test series and will lead the team in the upcoming match as well. He needs to put in a better performance to lead the team to victory.

Kamindu Mendis
Kamindu Mendis did a lot of work in the last match and helped the team show a better performance in the second innings. He will be in the starting lineup in the next match as well.
Prabath Jayasuriya
Prabath Jayasuriya has picked up 3 wickets in each of the last two matches and is aiming to achieve a similar performance in the next match. He is a left-arm spinner.
Kamindu Mendis
Kamindu Mendis will help the Lord’s team as an off-spin bowler and could be included in the next match as well. He was wicketless in the last match.

Asitha Fernando had a spectacular performance in the last match and took a total of 6 wickets for Sri Lanka. The team will not let him down in the next match after his fabulous performance.
Vishwa Fernando
Vishwa Fernando did not get any wickets in the second innings of the first Test, but he got two in the first. He may get another chance.
Lahiru Kumara
Lahiru Kumara should replace Milan Priyanath Rathnayake in the upcoming match in the pace department. The latter picked up just 1 wicket in both innings and failed to put up a lethal bowling attack.
