SRI LANKA FORM: SORRY SRI LANKANS

Coached by Chris Silverwood, Sri Lanka have been inconsistent but improving in recent years but this campaign has been really underwhelming. They were first skittled for just 77 in their opening game against South Africa, eventually losing by six wickets, and backed that up by losing by two wickets to Bangladesh in a bit of a nail biter, leaving them all but eliminated from the competition.

NEPAL FORM: STRUGGLING MINNOWS

Nepal came into the tournament under a cloud after the cloud of Sandeep Lamichhane being denied a visa to enter the United States and they then started their campaign by being bowled out for just 106 by the Netherlands and allowing for that to be chased in just 18.4 overs, taking just four of the Dutch wickets along the way.

SRI LANKA BETTING ANALYSIS

Sri Lanka have been able to take wickets, despite their poor performances and results, with 14 wickets taken in 35.2 bowling overs. Captain Wanindu Hasaranga has taken two in each match but the best way to go for this one to back Sri Lanka’s best bowler would be Nuwan Thushara (7/2) coming into some form with 4-18 the other day and his pace likely to hurt the Nepalese top order.

As for the batting, Nepal’s two right-arm medium bowlers, Karan KC and Gulshan Jha, both struggled right at the top of their bowling innings against the Netherlands so backing one of Sri Lanka’s openers; Pathum Nissanka (10/3) or Kusal Mendis (3/1) to get hold of either and be their top scorer in the match is the way to go.

NEPAL BETTING ANALYSIS

As for Nepal’s bowling, there was a clear standout from the other day and that was the excellent performance of Dipendra Singh Airee in just two overs. The key all-rounder for Nepal took 1-6 from his two overs to stall the Netherlands and given the fact Sri Lanka’s middle-to-lower-order has faltered so much in their two matches, backing Singh Airee to once again be Nepal’s best bowler (4/1) is good value.

Another good value bet to back with regards to Nepal would be their overall total. On what is going to be a pitch whereby the pace is not known and it is so unpredictable in Florida, it could be tricky to score again and, given they could only manage 106 against the Netherlands but now face a Sri Lankan side that have still been able to take wickets then backing below a score of 100 could be a good bet.

SRI LANKA VS NEPAL EXPERT PREDICTION

Sri Lanka have really underwhelmed at this tournament and their all-star all-rounder captain Wanindu Hasaranga comes into this third match on the back of back-to-back ducks. However, despite it being a tournament full of shocks so far, they are still surely expected to get the better of a Nepalese side that struggled for any real rhythm with bat or ball in their opening match and a comfortable Sri Lankan victory is to be expected.
