Deepak Chahar’s sister Malti Chahar lashed out at critics for attacking her brother after he was forced to leave the field during the match between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday (May 1).

The injury-prone pacer suffered another setback when he walked off the field after bowling just two deliveries. He opened the bowling for the defending champions and left his stride as he raced towards the third ball of the over.

Deepak Chahar spoke to captain Ruturaj Gaikwad before deciding to leave the field. He did not participate in the game again. Shardul Thakur had to fill in the rest for the Rajasthan pacer. With Deepak Chahar leaving and players like Matheesha Pathirana and Tushar Deshpande unavailable, CSK suffered a crushing seven-wicket defeat against Punjab Kings.

Malti Chahar Reacts to Criticism Deepak Chahar Faces:

Deepak Chahar was also forced to miss a couple of games due to an issue earlier this season. With the pacer suffering another injury setback, he faced harsh criticism and trolling on social media. Several fans even asked CSK to release the injury-prone pacers.

When the fast bowler found himself in the line of fire of disgruntled fans, Malti Chahar came to his defence. She took to X (formerly Twitter) to urge critics to support her brother in coming back strong instead of attacking him over his injury setbacks.

“Stop being so insensitive! No one enjoys these injuries! He is doing his best and will come back stronger!” wrote Malti Chahar.

Summary of the match in summary:

Talking about the game, CSK posted 162/3 in the allotted 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Barring captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, who scored 62 runs, no other CSK batsman could reach the 30-run mark. In response, PBKS chased down the total in less than 18 overs by losing just three wickets.

CSK is currently at fourth place in the points table with five wins and as many losses. On the other hand, PBKS has risen to seventh place with its fourth victory of the season.
