Suryakumar Yadav becomes fastest to 2000 T20I runs, equals Virat Kohli’s sensational feat

Suryakumar Yadav broke the massive record of Glenn Maxwell and Aaron Finch in T20Is. The stand-in captain of the Indian cricket team became the fastest batsman to score 2000 runs in the shortest format of the game in terms of balls faced.

Suryakumar Yadav achieved the feat in the ongoing second T20I against South Africa. The match between the two teams will take place at St George’s Park in Gqeberha. The Indian captain has been magnificent with the bat so far in the game and has played some impressive shots.

Suryakumar came in to bat as India lost both openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal Shubman Gill, for ducks. The batsman came out with positive intentions and attacked the bowlers from the beginning. He seemed unfazed by the wickets falling at the other end and played lofted shots.

Suryakumar Yadav completed 2000 runs in just 1163 balls, surpassing Aaron Finch who achieved the feat in 1283 balls. The Indian captain also surpassed the likes of Glenn Maxwell (1304 balls), David Miller (1398 balls) and KL Rahul (1415 balls).
