India star Rinku Singh has revealed his selection for the semi-finalists of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The ninth edition of the T20 World Cup began earlier this month.
A total of 20 teams are participating in the event which will be jointly organized by the United States of America and the West Indies. The teams have been divided into four groups of five teams each. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super 8 stage before the four semi-finalists are decided.
With the tournament underway, Rinku Singh has named the four teams that can make it to the semi-finals. In a video posted by Kolkata Knight Riders, the left-hander began by picking Team India as the first semi-finalist. He then chose defending champions England, 2021 winners Australia and last year’s runners-up Pakistan as the other three semi-finalists.

Three of the four semi-finalists predicted by Rinku Singh had also qualified for the semi-finals in the last edition of the T20 World Cup semi-finals. India, Pakistan and England reached the quarterfinals of the T20 World Cup 2022, while the fourth team was New Zealand. However, Rinku Singh believes Australia will replace New Zealand in this year’s semi-final line-up.
Meanwhile, India started their T20 World Cup campaign with a win. The Rohit Sharma-led team thrashed Ireland by eight wickets in their first World Cup match on Wednesday (June 5). By bowling first, Team India bowled out Ireland for a paltry total of 96 runs in 16 overs.
Hardik Pandya starred in the ball, taking 3 wickets for 27 wickets, while Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah picked up 2 wickets. In response, India chased down the total within 13 overs by losing two wickets. Captain Rohit Sharma led from the front, scoring 52 runs before retiring injured. India will be in action next Sunday (June 9) when they take on Pakistan.
