Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has made his predictions for the final of the T20 World Cup 2024. The brand ambassador of the tournament believes that three teams have a good chance of reaching the final and also cheekily joked that He doesn’t love Australia.

The T20 World Cup 2024 is currently underway. The tournament began on June 2 and will be played throughout June. The United States of America and the Caribbean will host the tournament and 20 teams will compete for the title.

With 20 teams competing for the title, it is difficult to pick the favorites, but the journey from the group stage to the Super 8 stage will be easy for some of the big teams. India and Pakistan are likely to drop out of their group as they are placed alongside Ireland, the United States and Canada.

On the other hand, England and Australia look like favorites to qualify for the Super 8 from Group B, as they have Namibia, Oman and Scotland alongside them. While in Group C there are the West Indies, New Zealand and Afghanistan.

In Group D, South Africa and Sri Lanka seem to be the favorites as they have Bangladesh, along with Netherlands and Nepal in the group. The two best teams in each group will advance to the Super 8 phase of the tournament.

The Super 8 stage of the tournament will be round-robin. The top four teams in the points table will play the semifinals and the two winners will play the final. With all the teams in good shape, it promises to contribute to an exciting tournament.

For Yuvraj Singh, India, along with the West Indies and Pakistan, have a strong chance of playing in the final. He also hilariously claimed that Australia should not be present in the final. Him speaking to PTI at the inauguration of the Fan Park at the Oculus Trade Center in New York.

“I hope India, probably the West Indies. Pakistan 3 and no Australians (laughs).”

“The running leader seems to be Virat Kohli” – Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh also spoke about the player he is looking forward to. He said that he is looking forward to seeing Rishabh Pant when he returns from the injury. He also stated that Virat Kohli will be the leading run-getter of the tournament:

“I would say, Rishabh Pant. I am looking forward to the return of Rishabh who is coming back from a serious injury. And the run-getter seems to be Virat Kohli, he has had a very good IPL.”

India won the warm-up match against Bangladesh. They were sensational with bat and ball and almost ticked all the boxes before the main tournament. The Rohit Sharma-led team will open their campaign against Ireland on June 5. They would be eager to win the tournament and end the title drought. They last won the ICC title in 2013 and would be desperate for victory.
