‘The real show stealer is BoomBall, he bowled extraordinarily’ – Ravichandran Ashwin goes gaga over Jasprit Bumrah

India was able to make a tremendous comeback in the five-match test series against England and was able to win the second test match by 106 runs. Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah was the star of the show for India and took a total of nine wickets in the entire match. This included a six-fer in the first innings and broke the backbone of England’s batting line-up. Bumrah also became the first bowler in history to be ranked number one in the ICC rankings in all formats.

Veteran Indian player Ravichandran Ashwin, while speaking on his YouTube channel, praised the Indian right-arm pacer and claimed that it was ‘Boomball’ who stole the show in Vizag. Ashwin stated that Bumrah is the leading wicket-taker of the series and also the number one Test bowler.

Ravichandran Ashwin praises Jasprit Bumrah

Ravichandran Ashwin said, “The real show stealer is BoomBall. Jasprit Bumrah has bowled extraordinarily. He is the leading wicket-taker with 14 wickets and also the number one Test bowler. “I am a big fan of his and this is a Himalayan feat.”

It was speculated that due to Jasprit Bumrah’s injury-prone career, he would be rested from the third Test match; However, the Indian team selectors included him in the squad for the last three Tests. Bumrah has been named vice-captain of the team and will once again lead the Indian bowling attack.

The last few months have been very challenging for Jasprit Bumrah as a player. Bumrah recovered from his back injury last year after staying away from international cricket for almost a year. It seemed like Bumrah would not return with the same energy and pace.

However, the pacer proved all cricket experts wrong as he was able to perform even better than before. Jasprit Bumrah has led India’s pace attack very well and proved to be India’s number one pacer once again.

Coming back to the IND vs ENG Test series, the Indian selectors have excluded batsman Shreyas Iyer from the last three Test matches due to his poor form. Pacer Akash Deep has been included in the squad while Virat Kohli has also been ruled out of the last three Test matches due to personal reasons.

The next match of the series will be played at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot from February 15. The Indian cricket team put up a brilliant performance in the second test match played in Visakhapatnam. However, there are still many issues that the party must address.

The middle order is still inexperienced and has not been able to perform in the entire series so far. India has depended on the performance of individual players while the team has not been able to perform to its full batting potential.

England have also given a tough fight to the Indian cricket team in the first two matches of the series, however, their batsmen have also struggled against Indian bowlers who would like to improve in the upcoming matches of the series.
