‘They won’t settle for one tactic for long’: Former England captain slams Rohit Sharma for poor strategy

Former England captain Michael Vaughan criticized Indian captain Rohit Sharma for not following a particular tactic for a prolonged period.

As always, the story remained the same during the third Test in Brisbane, with Travis Head scoring another century against India. It came when Australia had lost three wickets and needed a strong partnership, and Head did just that to lead his team to a massive total.

Once again, Rohit Sharma’s flawed tactics came to light as he looked apathetic to Head’s attack and could do nothing to keep the left-hander in check. Head took the game in no time and soon completed another ton, his second in the series, to become the leading run-scorer.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan criticized Indian captain Rohit Sharma for not following a particular tactic for a prolonged period. On Fox Cricket, he questioned why the Indian bowlers did not try to get him out or fill the offside region.

“They don’t settle on a tactic long enough. Are they trying to make fun of him? Why don’t they try to kick him out? Why don’t they open completely and fill the opposite side?

India lose four wickets for 48 runs in second innings

After electing to bowl first, India did not bowl well and conceded too many loose deliveries to allow Australia to post a big total on the board. Travis Head (152) and Steve Smith (101) scored fabulous centuries, while Alex Carey (70) also played a good hand to take Australia to 445.

Later in the second innings, India did not get off to the best of starts as they lost four wickets for 48 runs amid many rain breaks. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli played loose shots and had to retire early in the innings.

Pat Cummins then bowled a beautiful delivery to Rishabh Pant who stole it straight from the keeper and lost his wicket. Another rain break halted play, but India are now in deep trouble.

They would want a great partnership from KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma to stabilize the innings and take India forward. If the team loses another wicket, they may not recover in this game, and not even rain would save them.
