Team India pacer Mohammed Siraj received a heroic welcome from fans in Hyderabad on Friday, July 5, following the Rohit Sharma-led team’s victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Fans cheered him, shouted praises for Team India and also joined in the chants of “Kohli, Kohli” during a celebratory tour of Hyderabad.
The Men in Blue won the 2024 T20 World Cup final against South Africa by seven runs at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on June 29. However, their return to India was delayed due to Hurricane Beryl. They were stranded in Barbados for a few days before finally landing in Delhi early on July 4.
The Indian cricket team met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the morning before heading to Mumbai to celebrate the victory parade. The Men in Blue took out an open-top bus parade from Marine Drive to the Wankhede Stadium. The board organised a grand felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium in front of the fans.

Mohammed Siraj returned to Hyderabad on Friday after attending the functions in Mumbai. He received a warm welcome in Hyderabad where fans organised a victory parade for the pacer. Notably, Siraj had invited fans to join him for the celebration after the Rohit Sharma-led team’s triumph in the T20 World Cup.
Hundreds of fans celebrated his return home as T20 World Cup champions. The parade included decorated vehicles and enthusiastic fans chanting slogans. During the celebratory tour, fans enthusiastically chanted “Kohli, Kohli”, and Siraj joined the fans in chanting “Kohli, Kohli”.

Virat Kohli’s mentorship has played a crucial role in Mohammed Siraj’s rise. Kohli provided him with guidance and support on and off the field. Siraj has overcome significant challenges to become a pivotal player in the Indian team. He deserves recognition despite his limited role in the World Cup triumph.

Virat Kohli scored a crucial innings of 76 runs in the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup. The right-handed batsman helped the team reach an average of 177 runs against South Africa. His performance earned him the Man of the Match award as India ended their 11-year ICC trophy drought with a thrilling seven-run win.
