Rohit Sharma Akash Deep Furious At Yashasvi Jaiswal For Dropping Marnus Labuschagne

India’s young opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal made a big mistake on the fourth day of the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne when he bowled Marnus Labuschagne in the gully. The botched catch left India captain Rohit Sharma and bowler Akash Deep furious with Jaiswal.

It was a simple catch that fell straight into Jaiswal’s lap, but he wasted the opportunity despite grabbing it with both hands. Labuschagne, as he has done throughout the series, looked for a long ball outside off stump for a late cut.

But the ball bounced a little further and headed straight towards Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was also nearby. Both Rohit Sharma and Akash Deep couldn’t help but show their emotions. Akash Deep even said a few words to Jaiswal.

Watch: Rohit Sharma and Akash Deep furious with Yashasvi Jaiswal

Rohit Sharma, who was standing at the first slip, reacted furiously while Akash Deep spouted some words at Jaiswal showing his frustration. The young Bengal fast bowler has had very bad luck in the series so far.

Akash Deep has passed the bat on numerous occasions but has not gotten the upper hand. He even beat late innings centurion Steve Smith with a no. times but I didn’t find the advantage. The failed capture did not please him in the least and he was clearly frustrated.

It was a great moment in the game as Labuschagne was Australia’s only recognized batsman. His wicket would have exposed Australia’s tail, allowing India a chance against them.

Difficult day for Yashasvi Jaiswal

It was a tough day for Yashasvi Jaiswal on the field. The youngster had also dropped a catch off the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah. After Labuschagne’s failed catch, Jaiswal bowled another catch, albeit a difficult one this time.

During the closing stages of the post-lunch session, Jadeja bowled a perfect ball that hit Cummins at the top of the bat. The ball went low towards Jaiswal but was at a reachable height. However, he got up too early and wasted a great opportunity.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj lead the way

While Akash Deep did not get the wicket, Jasprit Bumrah and Mphammed Siraj were the stars of the day for India. As usual, Bumrah troubled the Australian batsmen early on and was among the wickets.

He first picked up the wicket of debutant Sam Konstas. Bumrah was ably supported by Mohammed Siraj, who seemed to have good pace. Siraj picked up the wicket of Usman Khawaja and then also got Steve Smith out cheaply.

Bumrah came to the party and dismissed Mitchell Marsh and Alex Carey to have Australia six down before Labuschagne and Cummins took the fort.

Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal had a good time with the bat in the first innings. The left-handed opener scored an excellent 82 off 118 balls that included 11 fours and 1 six. Unfortunately, he was left without a team after a major mix-up with Virat Kohli.
