Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batsman Virat Kohli stole the limelight during the franchise’s unbox event ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He reacted to fans calling him King and said he feels embarrassed about it .

The crowd did not let him speak and the only thing that could be heard were the chants of “Kohli Kohli”. The fans in the stands of the M Chinnaswamy stadium went crazy when he took center stage. After the franchise unveiled his jersey, he was asked, “How does the King feel?”
Hearing this crowd erupted and chanted ‘Kohli, Kohli’. But the batsman urged fans to calm down as the team had to travel to Chennai for the first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He stated:
“Guys, we have to get to Chennai pretty quickly, we have a charter flight so we don’t have much time. First of all, you need to stop calling me that word (king). I was telling Faf, I feel embarrassed everywhere when you call me like that and they react like that, so please call me Virat from now on. He don’t use that word, it’s very embarrassing for me.”

Virat Kohli to play vital role for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2024
Virat Kohli also entertained fans when he spoke in Kannada ahead of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru jersey reveal. He also starred in the video when the team’s kit was unveiled at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru.
The upcoming edition of IPL 2024 will be a crucial edition for Virat Kohli as it will mark his return to the league. He was on a break for personal reasons as he along with his wife Anushka Sharma gave birth to his second child in London.
