Pakistan national cricket team batsman Babar Azam has been working hard ahead of the two-match Test series against the Bangladesh national cricket team. The Test series between the teams will also be a part of the World Test Championship.

The Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from August 21. After that, it will be time for the second match, which will be played at the National Stadium in Karachi from August 30.

Ahead of the first Test against the Bangladesh national cricket team, the Pakistan national cricket team has regrouped and started preparing for the matches. The Shan Masood-led side were seen putting in tough yards in the nets, in what will be their first Test series for the first time since January this year.

Ahead of the series, the focus will be on star batsman Babar Azam. The right-hander will be one of the key factors for the team ahead of the Test series against Bangladesh. The focus will be on him as a lot will depend on him with the bat for the team.

On Thursday (August 15), Azam was seen battling hard at the nets. However, the right-handed bowler took a heavy hit while batting. In the video that has gone viral on the internet, the Pakistan captain was hit in the crease and seemed to be in immense pain. He was on his knees and took some time to get back on his feet.

Babar Azam will be highly motivated for the Test series against the Bangladesh national cricket team. The right-handed bowler has been facing a lot of criticism lately due to his leadership in the white-ball format along with his poor performances with the bat in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Under Babar’s leadership, Pakistan’s national cricket team faced an early elimination from the 2024 T20 World Cup. They faced defeats against the United States of America and India, and failed to advance to the Super 8 stage of the tournament. His leadership also came under scrutiny, especially after he was re-signed ahead of the tournament.

In the upcoming Test series against the Bangladesh national cricket team, Babar will be playing under the leadership of Shan Masood. The Test series will also be a great opportunity for the right-handed bowler to silence all his critics, especially for his poor performance in the Tests.

Babar Azam has not registered a single fifty in the longest format of the game since 2022. In the 10 innings he played last year, he scored just 204 runs and also failed miserably in the Test series against Australia where he scored 103 runs at an average of 20.60 and a top score of 41 to his name. He would be hoping to turn things around when the new season begins soon.
