It didn’t take long for Rachin Ravindra and Mustafizur Rahman to make an impact for the Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing first match of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024). The defending champions opened their IPL 2024 campaign with the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

The home team debuted Mustafizur Rahman and Rachin Ravindra for the match and it took less than five overs for the duo to make their presence felt. RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bat first.

The former South Africa captain came out firing and raced to 31 runs off just 20 balls at the end of the fourth over. He hit Deepak Chahar for a four in the first over before scoring two more off the bowling of Tushar Deshpande in the second over. In the third over, he took Chahar to the cleaners and hit him for four boundaries.

With Du Plessis looking very good, CSK needed something special to get rid of him and Rachin Ravindra provided that moment of brilliance for his team. Ruturaj Gaikwad He handed the ball to Mustafizur Rahman for the fifth over and it took him just three balls to make an impact.

Du Plessis hit a four off the second ball of the over, but Mustafizur had the last laugh as he dismissed the RCB captain off the next delivery thanks to a brilliant diving catch from Rachin Ravindra. It was a slower delivery outside off stump and du Plessis had to reach the ball. He ended up hitting the ball with the toe of the bat and the ball shot towards deep backward point where Rachin Ravindra ran in before taking a brilliant catch as he lunged forward.
