Although Glenn Maxwell did not have a great outing with the bat, he makes sure to give it his all during the course. Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The match is underway at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.

Chasing the target of 174 runs, Chennai Super Kings got off to a cheerful start despite Ruturaj Gaikwad (15) losing his early wicket. But Ajinkya Rahane made sure to ooze class with the bat and, along with Rachin Ravindra, took the bowlers to the cleaners.

Ajinkya Rahane played some magnificent shots in his innings and barely made a mistake in his stroke. He kept Chennai Super Kings in the hunt and looked like he would take his team home. But Glenn Maxwell’s brilliance on the field brought the Indian batsman back to the hut.

Cameron Green again bowled a long ball through middle leg. The ball didn’t go up that much and Ajinkya Rahane stayed back to shoot. The ball came out of the top half as he controlled his shot. He was running towards the boundary but Glenn Maxwell stopped him in the middle.

Glenn Maxwell, in the deep box and back, put in a brilliant effort. He was a few yards in, but he managed to run to his left and jump at second right to swallow the ball and send a dangerous-looking Ajinkya Rahane back to the hut.

Ajinkya Rahane seemed to have a golden touch but couldn’t capitalize on the outing he got. India’s senior batsman scored 27 runs off 19 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 142 and also hit two sixes in his innings. His wicket came at the crucial moment of the match and lifted the RCB team.

With his wicket, Chennai Super Kings lost their fourth wicket and were reduced to 99/4. RCB captain Faf du Plessis also brought in bowler Glenn Maxwell into the attack to trouble the opposition batsmen in Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube, who are potentially known as power hitters.

After Ajinkya Rahane exited, Chennai Super Kings came under pressure and also lost Daryl Mitchell. The New Zealand all-rounder looked menacing as he hit some big sixes and put pressure on the RCB bowlers in the game.

But Cameron Green made sure to eliminate Daryl Mitchell to get his team back in the game. The pacer bowled a short delivery on the off stump to which Mitchell made some space by moving back and looked to bat this for long on.

The batsman failed to get proper connection as the ball left the top half and went straight to Rajat Patidar’s throat at long-off. The New Zealand all-rounder scored 22 runs off 18 balls at a strike rate of over 122. He also hit two sixes in his innings. His wicket saw CSK fall to 110/4.
