Pakistan star all-rounder Haris Rauf has been the target of batsmen across formats, no matter the format, domestic or international cricket, he has been facing an onslaught, and the United States-based Major League Cricket (MLC) was no different. Rauf is currently representing the San Francisco Unicorns (SFU) in the ongoing Major League Cricket 2024 (MLC 2024).
Well, this time Sri Lankan batsman Shehan Jayasuriya left Rauf stunned but angry with his incredible shot in the 13th match of the ongoing MCL 2024 between the San Francisco Unicorns (SFU) and the Seattle Orcas (SOR) at the Church Street Park in Morrisville.
The San Francisco Unicorns won the MLC 2024 match, but Shehan Jayasuriya’s stunning shot stole the show
Jayasuriya opened the match alongside Ryan Rickelton (29) for the Seattle Orcas (SOR), but his fifty was not enough as the San Francisco Unicorns (SFU) won the 2024 MCL match by 23 runs at Church Street Park in Morrisville. It was the fourth loss for the Seattle Orcas (SOR) in the tournament.
Well, the 32-year-old left-hander hit seven fours and two sixes during his brilliant knock of 54 runs off 37 deliveries before being dismissed by Australian captain and star pacer Pat Cummins in the MLC 2024 game.
Coming back to Jayasuriya’s incredible shot off Rauf, spectators and fans were treated to one of the best shots in the league in the sixth over of the Seattle Orcas (SOR) innings against the San Francisco Unicorns (SFU).
Rauf bowled a ball that was just short of the outside off stump. Jayasuriya, who had anticipated such a delivery, opted for an unconventional stance. He executed a daring backhander, timing the delivery perfectly to effortlessly send the ball over the wicket-keeper’s head for a boundary.

Rauf returned wicketless and conceded 30 runs in his four overs but his San Francisco Unicorns (SFU) won the match by 23 runs to record their second win of the ongoing MCL 2024.
However, the video of the Pakistani player falling victim to Jayasuriya’s backhand shot was doing the rounds all over the internet, with fans finding it funny and not surprised by his knock even in the new T20 league.

Corey Anderson satisfied with the performance of the San Francisco Unicorns against the Seattle Orcas
Meanwhile, San Francisco Unicorns (SFU) captain Corey Anderson said at the post-match presentation, “A pretty good result. The boys did a great job in the latter part of the batting innings and then came out strong with the ball.” The captain praised Sanjay Krishnamurthi for his quickfire knock of 30 runs off 21 balls and said, “He’s a young lad who’s got a lot of talent. Big pluses for him today. It was a pretty big innings in the context of the game. 30 runs in a game like this is massive.”
Anderson concluded by saying: “Pat Cummins is a world-class player; just having him in the group talking about cricket calms the group down. It’s also great for the balance of the team. We want to try to win every game; we come back to Dallas and we want to reassess quickly, so hopefully we can take some momentum from this game.”
