Harpreet Brar castles Glenn Maxwell, Rajat Patidar

Punjab Kings (PBKS) bowler Harpreet Brar brought his team back into the game in the ongoing match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The sixth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is underway at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Virat Kohli keeps Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the chase in the ongoing game against Punjab Kings. But the top batsman is not getting the desired support from the other end as the Shikhar Dhawan-led team ensures they keep wickets at regular intervals.

Rajat Patidar seemed to have started the game and looked like he would give his full support to Virat Kohli. The young batsman played some sharp shots in his innings and kept his team in the hunt. But he could not make a greater impact and he returned early to the cabin.

The credit for that goes to Punjab Kings spinner Harpreet Brar. The left-arm spinner produced a peachy delivery that Rajat Patidar had no idea about and he had to undertake a long walk back to the pavilion at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Harpreet Brar bowled a flat, straight delivery that skidded well past the inside edge. Rajat Patidar tried to hit it through mid-on but completely missed the ball and crashed into the middle stump.

Rajat Patidar, who has been going through a rough patch, scored only 18 runs off 18 balls. He had a strike rate of 100 and only hit 1 four and 1 six in his innings. His wicket left Royal Challengers Bengaluru reeling at 86/3 in front of their stadium.

If this was not enough, Harpreet Brar in the next over made sure to shake Royal Challengers Bengaluru even more. Punjab Kings spinner removed the all-rounder Glenn Maxwell as the home side saw their fourth wicket fall inside 13 overs.

Harpreet Brar bowled a long, flat delivery on the off stump. Glenn Maxwell made space to slap him offside. However, he didn’t get the proper connection and ended up having a thick bottom edge that cut him.

Look here:

This was the fourth time that Harpreet Brar removed Glenn Maxwell in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The left-arm spinner has removed the batsman four times in just 20 balls. Glenn Maxwell, who got a golden duck in the last match, scored only 3 runs off 5 balls.

Harpreet Brar returns with figures of 2/13 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru

Harpreet Brar bowled a sensational spell for Punjab Kings in the ongoing game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The left-arm spinner returned with figures of 2/13 in his quota of 4 overs. He had an economy of just 3.2 and his spell surely put his team in the driving seat. After his spell ended, Harshal Patel removed Virat Kohli and put RCB under immense pressure. The Shikhar Dhawan-led team would now hope to wrap things up quickly and record their second consecutive game on the trot.
