Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) explosive batsman Heinrich Klaasen and Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) keeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik crushed two of the biggest six in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). on Monday, April 15.
Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) took on Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 30th match of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium from Bengaluru.
Heinrich Klaasen played an exceptional knock in the first innings of the match and played a key role in Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) scoring 287/3 on the board, which was the highest total in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Klaasen smashed 67 runs off 31 balls, with 2 fours and 7 sixes. One of Klaasen’s six hits was 106m, which became the longest six in IPL 2024. In the second ball of the 17th over, Lockie Ferguson bowled a long ball which Klaasen slayed with a mammoth six of 106m.
However, those were not the biggest six of the match as Dinesh Karthik took a wonder hit in the second innings and overtook Heinrich Klaasen, Venkatesh Iyer and Nicholas Pooran to make the longest six of the Indian Premier League 2024.
On the first ball of the 16th over, T Natarajan bowled a longer delivery on the pads and Dinesh Karthik hit it on the pads for a mammoth six off 108m. In total, Dinesh Karthik scored 83 runs off 35 balls, with 5 fours and 7 sixes, during the chase.

Talking about the RCB vs SRH clash, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 287/3 and restricted Royal Challengers Bengaluru to 262/7 to win the high-scoring match by 25 runs. In total, 81 boundaries were hit in the match, the most in a T20 match. Additionally, 549 runs were scored in the match, which is the highest total in a T20 match ever.

Speaking after the match, Heinrich Klaasen said Travis Head, who smoked a ton of 39 balls, was putting pressure on the players with his special hitting. Heinrich Klaasen said:
“It was amazing, it was a special hit from Head, he put pressure on the bowlers. I took a bit of time, hit the ball, waited for the bad balls and made sure he (Head) faced most of the balls. It’s good having bowlers under pressure.”
Klaasen further said that he has been training hard and is delighted that it has paid off. He elaborated:
“I haven’t been training much, but I had a good session (before the match). That adjustment worked tonight. We were lucky, it was a good wicket, we just needed to execute (our plans). Their batsmen also played well (during the chase). “.
