While T20 cricket is known for its immense entertainment and fast flow, during the SA20 2024 match between Durban Super Giants and Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Giants batsman Heinrich Klaasen hit a brilliant six off Liam Dawson. Klaasen hit a 105m six off the second ball of the 10th over that passed long-on.

Wiaan Mulder, batting first at Kingsmead, Durban, was the top run-scorer of the innings and played 52 innings off 29 balls. He hit a total of 3 fours and 4 sixes during his stay at the crease. However, the Durban Super Giants did not start well and Quinton de Kock was dismissed for 7 runs. JJ Smuts and Marcus Stoinis couldn’t do much and returned to the locker room for 9 and 1 run respectively.

Heinrich Klaasen played 31 innings off 17 balls and hit 1 four and 3 sixes in his innings. After Heinrich Klaasen and Wiaan Mulder returned to the dressing room, Dwaine Pretorious gave the much-needed end to his innings and played 23 innings off 21 balls.

Simon Harmer was the star of the show for the Sunrisers Eastern Cape and picked up 4 wickets with the ball. Ottniel Baartman and Daniel Worral also took 1-1 wickets with the ball.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape are the defending SA20 champions and will once again attempt to defend their title this season. On the other hand, the Durban Super Giants were eliminated in the last edition of the tournament and could not reach the round of 16.

However, this season things have changed for the Durban Super Giants as they currently top the table with 3 wins from 4 matches. On the other hand, Sunrisers Eastern Cape are in 4th place with 1 win in 3 matches.

The SA20, which consists of Joburg Super Kings, Durban Super Giants, Paarl Royals, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, MI Cape Town and Pretoria Capitals, is sometimes referred to as the “Indian mini-Premier League”. The owners of the Indian Premier League teams are the owners of each of these franchises.

The SA20 has established itself as one of the best leagues in the world and the upcoming second season of the competition has the potential to be another huge success. The SA20 is also very similar to the Indian Premier League as it uses the auction process to select and pick up players from the squad of different franchises.

Coming back to the match, Sunrisers Eastern Cape have big names like Dawid Malan, Aiden Makram, Tristan Stubbs and Marco Jansen who can prove essential in helping their team score 160 runs and claim their second win of the tournament.

On the other hand, the Durban Super Giants also have a decent bowling attack and will aim to continue their winning momentum in the tournament.
