Jasprit Bumrah's removes Mark Wood with stunning Yorker

India stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah has put his team in a commanding position in the ongoing fifth Test against England. The last match of the series between the teams will be held at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala.

Jasprit Bumrah, who had no luck with the ball during the match, made sure to score for the team when it mattered most. After Ravichandran Ashwin made a mockery of England’s batting line-up, the hosts needed someone to provide support at the other end.

Jasprit Bumrah went on the attack and made sure the move was worth it for India. He took a double wicket and ensured that India put a foot beyond the goal line. The stand-in captain removed Tom Hartley and then Mark Wood to reduce England to 8 wickets.

On the second ball of the 35th over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a full toss on the stumps. The ball had a hint of shape and the impact was just in front of the middle stump and hit just the middle of the middle stump while trapping Tom Hartley at LBW.

Jasprit Bumrah brought his two best balls late on to Mark Wood. The fast bowler bowled a deadly toe crusher that hit the batsman squarely on the foot. The England pacer could not play the angle as his bat came late and the batsman had to take a long walk back.

Here is the video:

Tom Hartley tried to get going and played a decent hand for the team but couldn’t continue as Jasprit Bumrah’s class was too much for him. The left-hander scored 20 runs off 24 balls and also hit 4 boundaries in his innings, adding 28 runs with Joe Root.

Mark Wood, on the other hand, was not allowed to open his account. He bagged a two-ball duck. Premier batsman Joe Root, on the other hand, is keeping England in the game. He has hit a sensational half-century and looks set for a ton, which would be his second in the series.

Jasprit Bumrah captains India in absence of Rohit Sharma

India captain Rohit Sharma did not take the field on Day 3 of the ongoing game at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. The senior opening batsman was not 100% fit as he had a stiff back and the medical team did not give him clearance to take the field.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also issued an official statement regarding the same development and stated, “Captain Rohit Sharma has not taken the field on Day 3 due to back stiffness.”

In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah has captained the team and the fast bowler has done a fantastic job. The stand-in captain has rotated the bowlers brilliantly and ensured that England’s batsmen do not settle at all. Even commentators have been amazed by his leadership. He would like his team to take the remaining two wickets quickly and run away with the game.
