Sunrisers Eastern Cape beat Durban supergiants in a one-sided encounter

Choosing to bat after winning the toss, Sunrisers Eastern Cape suffered an early setback with the dismissal of Dawid Malan in the second over. However, Jordan Hermann and Tom Abell built a solid partnership, providing a solid foundation for the team in the final match.

Tristan Stubbs (56*) scored a quick fifty, while captain Aiden Markram (42*) contributed a crucial cameo, guiding the team past the 200-run milestone in the first innings. Durban Super Giants captain Keshav Maharaj secured two wickets for 33 runs in his four-over spell.

The Keshav Maharaj-led team experienced a collapse during the power play while chasing. They lost three wickets for just seven runs in 3.4 overs. DSG wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock was dismissed for just three runs off Daniel Worrall’s seven balls in the third over.

Ottneil Baartman dismissed the in-form Heinrich Klaasen for a golden duck in the 11th innings of the Durban Super Giants. Wiaan Mulder was the top scorer with 38 runs off 22 deliveries. Despite his best efforts, the Durban Super Giants were bowled out for just 115 runs in 17 overs.

Aiden Markram’s team only managed one point in their first two games. However, they only lost one more game to finish at the top of the league. The Sunrisers continued their winning streak with a dominant performance in the first Qualifier and secured a place in the final.
