Kuldeep Sen

Kuldeep Sen hit the ground running in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in his debut season in 2022. The right-arm pacer impressed everyone with his bowling.

In seven games, he took eight wickets with best figures of 4 for 20 and helped Rajasthan Royals qualify for the final for the first time since 2008. Unsurprisingly, many expected him to be a regular for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2023. However, things did not go well for Kuldeep Sen in his second IPL season.

He played only two matches in IPL 2023 and went wicketless in both. Kuldeep Sen also struggled to find a place in the Rajasthan Royals XI during the first four games of the current edition. However, he managed to get the team to recall him on Wednesday (April 10) after an injury kept Nandre Burger out of the game.

Kuldeep Sen had something to prove and he did it in style. After Rajasthan Royals failed to take any wicket in the first eight overs, captain Sanju Samson bowled the ball to them. And the pacer made an instant impact by dismissing Sai Sudharsan in his first over to give his team a much-needed breakthrough.

In his second over, he dismissed Matthew Wade and Abhinav Manohar to reduce GT to 79 for 3 from an unbeaten 64. And his reaction after dismissing the batsmen made it clear that he was desperate to give a proper response to his critics who had written to him. After seeing off Wade and Manohar, Kuldeep Sen sparked silence by putting his finger on his lips.

Speaking of the game, GT was at 109 for 3 in 14th at the time of writing this report. Early in the game, half-centuries from Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag helped RR recover from 42 for 2 and post 196/3.
