Watch: Litton Das makes Babar Azam pay for sledding, brutally attacks Naseem Shah

Bangladesh National Cricket Team wicketkeeper and batsman Litton Das, 29, made sure to get perfect revenge for the beating he received from Pakistan National Cricket Team star Babar Azam in the first Test of the two-match series between the teams.

The first Test of the series between the Shan Masood-led team and Najmul Hossain Shanto & Co. is currently underway at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, and it has already been three days.

In the three days of play, the batsmen have dominated and scoring runs has been fairly easy with the bowlers, both pacers and spinners, struggling to take wickets due to lack of support from the surface.

Amid the intense clash between bat and ball, an incident involving Babar Azam and Litton Das stole the limelight on the third day of the first Test. On Friday, August 23, Das, while trying to build the innings with the aim of reducing Pakistan’s lead, was batting brilliantly.

Seeing that the Bangladesh wicket-keeper-batsman was playing well, former Pakistan captain Babar Azam decided to hit him and harass him so that he would not concentrate. Babar was seen exchanging a few words with Das before returning to the pitch to do the fielding.

However, Litton Das did not take it lightly and let his bat do the talking and get revenge. Star speedster Naseem Shah came to bowl after the incident and Litton Das vented his anger on the young batsman.

Babar’s squad charged at Das when he decided to launch an attack on Naseem in the 89th over. He came down the track and hit a four off Naseem’s head before hitting another four in front of square.

The third ball of the over was a dot but Das continued his attack and on the next ball hit a huge six outside the park. Litton Das followed it up with a four behind square before playing a dot to add 18 runs in the over.

At the end of the third day, the Bangladesh national cricket team was leading 316/5 and trailing by 132 runs. If we look at the current situation, it seems that the match is heading towards a draw, which will be a major blow for Pakistan, who had hoped to dominate the home Test matches to have a good position in the WTC final.

After the third day of play, Pakistan coach Azhar Mahmood did not seem happy with the preparation of the pitch for the Rawalpindi Test as he said they were hoping to see more pace and bounce, which was nowhere to be seen.

“We were hoping to get some bounce and rhythm on the pitch for the Rawalpindi Test but unfortunately this did not happen,” said assistant coach Azhar Mahmood.

He also explained why Pakistan has launched a quickfire attack against Bangladesh and said that they took the decision keeping in mind the upcoming series against England. He stated:

“Pakistan will play a Test series against England in the near future and keeping in mind future planning, Pakistan has picked four fast bowlers for the Rawalpindi Test against Bangladesh.”
