Watch: Mohammad Nawaz hits Imad Wasim during PSL 2024 match, video goes viral

Mohammad Nawaz, with his antics with Imad Wasim, brought out his best during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 match between Karachi Kings and Islamabad United. The match between the two teams took place on Wednesday (February 28) at the National Cricket Stadium in Karachi.

Mohammad Nawzaz had a decent outing in the game with both bat and ball. But what caught the attention of many were his gestures during the match with Imad Wasim. The all-rounder stole the show with his punch against his counterpart and left many divided.

The incident took place during the sixth ball of the 15th over of the second innings. Mohammad Nawaz bowled a full delivery which was out. Imad pressed forward, trying to get this into the side of the leg. However, the bat got stuck in the wicket for a moment.

The ball passed the inside edge as he took a long stride. The ball hit him outside the outside line and they took advantage of the opportunity to run. But Mohammad Nawaz insisted he was ruled out and convinced his employer to do the review.

Opting for DRS, Mohammad Nawaz took an opportunity to hit Imad Wasim. The pitcher hit the batter in the chest and appeared to be in pain as the duo shared laughter. The video of the incident went viral on the Internet and left many divided.

Here is the video:

Before that delivery, Mohammad Nawaz provided a vital blow for his team. The all-rounder eliminated Colin Munro by trapping him lbw. He threw a long toss right outside. The ball took a bunt and turned inwards as the batsman pressed back, trying to get the ball towards third man. The ball went past the inside edge and hit him flush on the back pad to send the batsman packing.

Imad Wasim fails to make an impact with the bat against the Karachi Kings

Imad Wasim, who picked a wicket with the ball, could not make much of an impact with the bat in the game against Karachi Kings. The all-rounder was killed by a two-ball duck when Tabraiz Shamsi removed him. He failed to punish the short ball and delivered a direct catch to cover where Shan Masood latched on to a precise catch.

After Imad Wasim got out, captain Shadab Khan played an unbeaten 10-run knock while Agha Salman (25*) also played a vital hand. Islamabad United completed a comfortable 7-wicket victory to rack up important points under their belt.

Shadab Khan, while talking about the victory, said that he was delighted to see his team’s effort after the defeat. He also stressed the importance of putting energy on the court. In statements to the stations, he explained:

“When you win, sometimes your mistakes are covered up. Beautiful victory, nice how the team recovered after the defeat in the last game. We were not up to par in our fielding. We have to put more energy on the field. As a bowling unit we were very good. Sometimes you are going to run, but if we play better it is a different game,” he concluded.
