MS Dhoni, on Sunday (April 14), came up with a dizzying cameo to propel the Chennai Super Kings to a daunting total of over 200 against the Mumbai Indians in the 29th game of the ongoing IPL 2024 in the Wankhede stadium.

The former CSK captain retired to bat in the last over after Hardik Pandya dismissed Daryl Mitchell. With just four balls left in the over, not many expected MS Dhoni to have such an impact. However, the former India captain once again proved that he still has a lot to offer as he scored 20 runs in those four balls.

The right-handed batsman took his former India teammate to cleanup and hit him for three sixes in a row before hitting a double off the last ball of the over. And as if the brilliant knock was not enough, MS Dhoni also had a touching gesture to win over fans once again.

As MS Dhoni was heading to the dressing room, he saw a young fan standing near the railing. The veteran wicketkeeper-batsman gave a pleasant surprise to the young fan. He picked up a ball from the stairs before handing it to the young fan.

Talking about the game, CSK finished their innings with 206/4. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube starred in the batting for CSK. While Gaikwad scored 69 runs, Dube remained unbeaten with 66 off just 38 balls.

For MI, Hardik Pandya picked up two wickets, while Shreyas Iyer and Gerald Coetzee claimed a wicket each. Coetzee gave MI the first breakthrough by dismissing Ajinkya Rahane for 5 before Gopal dismissed Rachin Ravindra. Later in the innings, Pandya dismissed Gaikwad and Daryl Mitchell.

“About par (total). The pitch gets better as the night progresses because of the dew. That’s what happened in the last match. It’s very beneficial (to be next to Bumrah). He (Bumrah) is probably the best in the world in “This format, so learn from it. I love it (IPL has great conditions for cricket and you have to be at your best). Coetzee said after the innings.
