Australian Nathan Lyon chose not to reveal the flaw he found in Kane Williamson’s batting against him. He said that he noticed something and tried to exploit it, but he won’t reveal it because there is still one match left.
Nathan Lyon is having a decent match in the ongoing Test between New Zealand and Australia. He makes sure to keep his team in the game and put pressure on the opponent. The veteran spinner has looked menacing in the game as he has bowled impeccable lines and lengths.
In chasing 369 runs, he made sure to deal a heavy blow to New Zealand. Offside eliminated Kane Williamson and shook the Kiwis. The pitcher pitched sensationally well and the batter had no answers to the veteran’s ball.
Nathan Lyon rounded the wicket and dropped the ball to mid-on and leg. Kane Williamson tried to hide it on his back foot, but the ball turned inwards and came off the inside edge to slide into leg. Steve Smith made a strong catch to send the batsman packing.
Kane Williamson failed to make much of an impact with the bat. He scored only 9 runs in 19 balls. The batsman had a torrid game with the bat as in the first innings he bagged a two-ball duck. He ran out and then his wicket team had a hard time getting going.
Nathan Lyon, while speaking on Kane Williamson’s pitch, said he was delighted after his plan came to fruition immediately. He revealed that he had noticed something in the batsman’s hitting against him and explained it to him. Speaking to reporters, he explained:
“That was the plan and it’s nice when plans come together right away. But yes, I have noticed something in Kane’s batting against my bowling. So, yeah, I tried to exploit that.
“There’s a test coming up, mate,” Lyon said when asked what flaw he noticed in Kane Williamson’s batting.

Nathan Lyon also spoke about the game situation and said that he likes it when the ball spins. Although he was surprised to see the spins in New Zealand, he gave credit to the opposition for the way they played. Speaking after the match, he explained:
“Great day of Test cricket. I’m a big fan when the ball spins obviously. I thought Glenn played pretty well to pick up five wickets, hats off to him. Pretty good day. (Are you surprised to see a turnaround in New Zealand?) No, not after watching that test against South Africa. When they left out Mitch Santner, I was quite surprised. I’m not sure where that test was but I was at home licking my lips. (The wind) It can be a challenge at first, but as soon as you find your rhythm, I really enjoyed it.
“You can end up getting into good shape. You have to give respect and credit to those who deserve it. I thought Rachin and Daryl played magnificent innings there. Rachin seems like a very good player, first time playing with him. I saw him a lot during the World Cup and he will be a superstar. He played very well there. “If we can come out here and just do our job and put pressure on, hopefully we’ll beat them.”
On Day 3, New Zealand were 111/3 with Rachin Ravindra (56*) and Daryl Mitchell (12*) batting. They are still 258 runs away from victory.
