Rishabh Pant has been working hard at the NCA to forge his return to cricket. The batsman reportedly participated in the warm-up match in Alur, near Bengaluru. The wicketkeeper-batsman was first seen in action after suffering a torrid accident in December 2022.

Rishabh Pant is expected to return in IPL 2024. Reports have suggested that he will captain Delhi Capitals in the league. It is also learned that he will play as a pure batsman in the tournament and will not stay, which means the franchise will have to play with a separate wicketkeeper in the team.

It is also learned that Rishabh Pant is batting with the same agility and freedom that he had before the accident. His mobility has not been impaired and he has shown good signs of recovery since he was injured.

IPL 2024 is all set to take place from March 22. Rishabh Pant will be eager to come back strong and make a statement. The wicketkeeper-batsman will be crucial for the Delhi Capitals and the Indian cricket team in the future.

Rishabh Pant is very confident that he will be fine to play – Ricky Ponting

The Delhi Capitals head coach recently expressed his joy at watching Rishabh Pant while playing. He said that the wicketkeeper-batsman is very confident about playing in the league. He revealed a conversation with Pant and added:

Rishabh is very confident that he will be fit to play. In what capacity we are not quite sure yet. You would have seen all the social media stuff, it is up and running and working well. But we are also only six weeks away from the first game. So we’re not sure if we’ll take it off this year.

“But I guarantee that if I ask him now he’ll say, ‘I’m playing every game, keeping in every game and batting at No. 4.’ That’s him, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed. He is a very dynamic player. He obviously he’s our captain. “We missed him so much last year.” He concluded.
