Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is not the captain of the five-time champions. He was replaced by Hardik Pandya as the new captain, a business deal that went down in the IPL history books.

However, he is never far from the team giving advice and helping the young players. He has scored 156 runs in five games so far at an average of 31.20 and close to 170. He also got a duck in the match against Rajasthan Royals.

Mumbai started with three consecutive losses. The losses hurt Rohit as there were reports of differences between him and Hardik Pandya. Wins in the next two games have given him back some semblance. He has also elevated them to seventh position in the points table.

His last knock was 38 off 24 balls in the match against RCB at the Wankhede. MI won the match in 15.3 overs, boosting his NRR. MI will play CSK next Sunday at Wankhede, followed by matches against PBKS at Mullanpur and Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede.

Several Mumbai Indians players gave their opinion on Hardik’s captaincy after the first three defeats. Power batsman Tim David spoke positively of the MI captain.

“Hardik has been phenomenal in the way he’s been playing for the team. That’s what we need at some point. Sometimes it’s me, sometimes it’s other guys,” Tim David added.

“You could see the first game where Hardik hit two boundaries in his first two balls. (We have) absolutely complete faith in him. We know his power; we know how good he is. When he gets into that situation, he is going to win matches. for us,” added David.

Talking about Rohit Sharma, he was seen driving the Mumbai Indians team bus, probably on his way to practice. Seeing him in the driver’s death, Mumbai Indians fans outside the team hotel cheered him on. Fans greeted him with loud cheers as he attempted to drive the bus.

Rohit Sharma also asked fans to support Hardik Pandya during Mumbai Indians’ first three defeats. The Wankhede crowd booed him for the first three games and started cheering him on when Mumbai Indians started winning.

He also spoke about winning the T20 World Cup for India in the upcoming ICC event. He led India to the World Cup final. India won 10 matches in a row only to lose to Australia in the final.

It was a heartbreaking loss for both the Indian team and the Indian fans. Indian fans don’t like to talk about the final, specifically the date. Rohit has now set his sights on the T20 World Cup. BCCI secretary Jay Shah has already confirmed that he will lead the team in the mega event. Rohit also said that he wants India to reach the WTC final in 2025 in England.

“I haven’t really thought about retiring. But I don’t know where life takes you. I’m still playing well at the moment, so I’m thinking about continuing for a few more years and then, I don’t know. I really want to win the Cup World Cup and there is a WTC final in 2025, hopefully India will make it,” Rohit said.
