Team India batsman and wicketkeeper Sanju Samson has grabbed attention during his time off from cricket after the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka last month. Sanju Samson recently played football on a basketball court and the video has gone viral on social media platforms on the internet.

The Kerala-born cricketer is currently enjoying his break from cricket. Samson was last seen in action during the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. The right-handed batsman was dismissed for a duck in both the matches he played in the series. He was not selected for India in the subsequent ODI series.

Samson was spotted playing football on a basketball court during his break from cricket. The court looked wet, indicating that it had rained earlier, adding to the fun of playing football with friends on a rainy day. One of his fans shared the video on social media site X (formerly Twitter).

Sanju Samson was not named in the Duleep Trophy squads

Samson was left out of the four teams that will contest the 17th edition of the Duleep Trophy. The BCCI announced the squads for the first round earlier this week, which will include Indian players Shubman Gill, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. The tournament will be played from September 5 to 22 in Anantapur and Bengaluru.

Ishan Kishan, who has been out of the Indian team, will be taking part in the Duleep Trophy. Kishan has made a good start in domestic cricket with a century in the Buchi Babu tournament. The Men in Blue are scheduled to play a three-match T20I series against Bangladesh after the home Test series.

“I’ll just go and play when I get drafted,” Samson said.
