Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spinner Ravi Bishnoi changed the entire complexion of the game against the Gujarat Titans in the ongoing game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The 21st match of the tournament between the teams will take held at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

After registering a total of 163 runs, the Lucknow Super Giants looked completely down, especially with Shubman Gill (19) and Sai Sudharsan (33) taking the Gujarat Titans off to a valiant start. The duo added 54 runs for the opening partnership, but with the way the home team bounced back, things have gone incredibly well.

Ravi Bishnoi also played a role in that as he made sure to add their names to the wicket tally. However, more than that, he stole the limelight with the sensational catch of his own bowling to remove Kane Williamson at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

During the second ball of the eighth over, Ravi Bishnoi bowled a full length bowler. Kane Williamson stepped up to perform the on-drive but missed the pitch and ended up throwing it into the air. It looked like the ball would land safely and the batter would survive.

But Ravi Bishnoi flew to his right on his follow-through and extended his right hand to catch it out of nowhere. He was a sensational one-handed stunner who energized the entire crowd at the Ekana Stadium and gave Lucknow Super Giants a crucial breakthrough in the game.

Here is the video:

Kane Williamson, who came in as an impact player, could not make much impact with the bat as he managed just 1 run from 5 balls. However, after his wicket, Lucknow Super Giants broke through the Gujarat Titans’ middle order and picked quick wickets.

Krunal Pandya was the destroyer-in-chief behind that as he oozed class with a ball. The spinner eliminated Sai Sudharsan, Sharath BR and Darshan Nalkande to return with figures of 3/11. He turned the game in favor of his team, which saw Lucknow Super reduce Gujarat Titans to 80/5.

Lucknow Super Giants record a total of 163 runs on board

Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and opted to bat first. They didn’t get off to a great start with the bat as they lost Quinton de Kock (6) and Devdutt Padikkal (7) early. But after that, captain KL Rahul (33) and Marcus Stoinis (58) batted well and brought their team back into the game.

The duo added 73 runs that got Lucknow Super Giants out of trouble. Nicholas Pooran (32*) in the end made sure to continue his golden touch and end the innings on a high. Ayush Badoni (20) made a valuable contribution and they finished with 163 runs on board.

For Gujarat Titans, Umesh Yadav was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 2/22. Darshan Nalkande also bagged two wickets while Rashid Khan contributed a wicket to ensure Lucknow Super Giants finished with a total of less than 170 runs.
