Indian national cricket team batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved a huge feat in international cricket in 2024. The young batsman became the first player to score 1000 runs this year in both the formats he played.
Indian national cricket team star Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved the feat in the second T20I against the Sri Lanka national cricket team. The penultimate match of the series between the teams was held at the Pallekele International Stadium in Pallekele on Sunday (July 28).
Yashasvi Jaiswal continued with his aggressive approach with the bat in the game and helped his team win the second game and take an unassailable 2-0 lead. The opening batsman got into attacking form and ensured that his team got off to a flying start with the bat in chasing 78 runs in 8 overs.
Yashasvi Jaiswal went for the bowlers from the start and smashed them all over the pitch. The left-hander, who scored 40 runs in the first game, showed his great touch with the bat, ensuring a powerful start for his team once again.
Yashasvi Jaiswal finished with an innings of 30 runs off 15 balls. He batted at a strike rate of 200 and hit 3 fours and 2 sixes. His impressive start with the bat helped India chase down the target in just 6.3 overs and go 2-0 up in the three-match T20I series.
Yashasvi Jaiswal has been sensational in 2024. The left-hander has scored 740 runs in Tests this year and is the leading run-getter in the format. He got all the runs in the Test series against England that took place earlier this year. In T20Is, the Indian opening batsman has scored 283 runs at a strike rate of over 175.
