Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defense champions will block the horns against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the first game of the 2025 season of the Premier League (IPL) in the gardens Eden on Saturday. Both Kolkata Knight riders and real challengers, Bengaluru, have separated from their previous captains in Shreyas Iyer and Faf du Plessis, respectively, and Ajinkya Rahane and Rajat Patidar will lead their respective sides in the KKR vs RCB fixation and in the future in the rest of the season.
Over the years, the IPL has been synonymous with innovative ideas and one of them has been the rule of impact players introduced in 2023. In the midst of many criticisms, it was reported that the impact player’s rule will continue to be part of the tournament in the IPL 2025 season.
The impact player would depend on the XI game combination, therefore, we observed how KKR could align in the first game against RCB.
KKR vs RCB: probably XI for Kolkata Knight riders
Kock Sunil Narine Ajinkya Rahanesh Iyer Angkrish Raghuvanshi Rinku Singh Singh Andre Russell Ramandeep Singh Harshit Rana Vaibhavarora Varun Chakravarty
If this is the XI looking for the KKR vs RCB opener, Kolkata has a great batting depth, while it is also a good coverage for their bowling unit. However, if they are going crazy first, one of the batters (Raguvanshi) could sit for an additional bowling player. In any case, with only three players abroad, KKR has the option of also having a foreign player as an impact substitute.
We look at three options for impact players for the Knight Riders Kolkata in the KKR vs RCB clash.
Moeen Ali
The all -terrain of England, Moeen Ali, is undoubtedly one of the most experienced players in the Kolkata Knight Riders configuration. However, with only four players abroad assigned in the XI game, MOEEN will find himself as one of the substitutes of the impact players for the game against RCB. After having played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as recently as in IPL 2024, it is not necessary to say that Moeen Ali is an activist experienced in the IPL. Add to that, the 37 -year -old is a valuable addition as a rotating bowling player against RCB, especially with Eden Gardens being synonymous with spinners in the last stages of a game.
Spencer Johnson
Australia Spencer Johnson pacemakers was released by Gujarat Titans after having an IPL 2024 mediocre, taking four wickts in five games. However, in Kolkata Knight Riders, he will have the opportunity to start again, although it is probably in the ability of an impact player. Johnson showed that he can be a valuable impact player to choose with his performances for Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League of Australia earlier this season. He picked up 13 seven-games WICKETS in BBL 2024-25, with the best 4/20 figures against Perth Scorchers.

Mayank Markande
Maank Markande is another spinner who can change the game for KKR against RCB in the city of Joy. Markande can be Kolkata Knight Riders disruptor in the middle age. In IPL 2024, all eight Markande Wickts of seven games arrived in the media, while 11 of their 12 WICKETS in IPL 2023 arrived in this phase.
If the Wickt Eden turns out to be one like the 2023 World Cup, Markande could be a useful addition in the second tickets to play in conjunction with the other KKR spits.
