Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been dominating this season of the competition and one of the main reasons for their success has been their explosive batting order. Once again, the legendary Virat Kohli has led the batting order from the front.

Having played their first match against the Gujarat Titans this season, the defending champions already have the upper hand, having beaten them the last time they met this season at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, it seemed evident that Kohli is not willing to let this opportunity slip away.

Virat Kohli threatens Prabhsimran Singh’s record with a flurry of boundaries off Kagiso Rabada

Virat Kohli has announced his form since the last game and once again looked in excellent touch against the Gujarat Titans as he smashed veteran pacer Kagiso Rabada for five consecutive boundaries in his first over.

Bowling the second over in the powerplay, Rabada offered some length outside the stumps, and the 9000-run veteran was in no shape to miss out on those gifts. He hit Rabada in different areas of the wicket and smashed him for five fours, getting 21 runs from his first over.

In this same season, when PBKS opener Prabhsimran Singh chased down the mammoth target of 265 runs for his team, he smashed Mukesh Kumar for 24 runs, scoring a boundary off every ball of his last over of the powerplay.

Kagiso Rabada attacks on his return; sends off Kohli’s after amazing start

An incredible captaincy from Shubman Gill as he backed his most experienced pacer Kagiso Rabada for the second in a row after being not taken for 21 runs in his first over. Having scored so many runs, Rabada didn’t seem too intimidated either.

He backed himself up with a new plan in the second over, and the ball headed sharply towards his body. After missing a ball, he surprised Kohli with a very well directed rebound that also caught him with speed.

Kohli, looking to continue the attack, overtook him and the ball rose high enough for Rashid Khan to settle safely under it and complete his second catch of the match. Rabada struck and Kohli’s prized wicket was out of the powerplay.

Rabada’s excellent performance against the RCB veteran in T20

Kagiso Rabada is one of the most legendary pacers of the modern generation and has been backed by top batsmen. He hasn’t stopped bothering Indian legend Virat Kohli either.

In T20, Rabada has an impressive record against Virat Kohli, having bowled to him on several occasions before in the IPL and also while playing for the South Africans. Having bowled 79 balls, Kohli has taken it for runs, reaching 140.

However, Rabada has also dismissed him five times in the shortest format of the match and has not let the big batsman’s average go beyond 22 against him.
