Arjun Tendulkar Among BCCI’s 20 Young All-Rounders Selected For NCA Camp To Help Them Develop Their Skills For Rapid Transition – Reports

In what has been the latest development according to PTI reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is known to have shortlisted 20 young all-rounders for camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to strengthen their skills. for a quick transition.

Former Indian cricketer and NCA boss VVS Laxman was reportedly keen to have the camp. A senior BCCI official told PTI that BCCI is looking at potential all-rounders so they can build them for different formats. It was also learned that the high-level selection team headed by Shiv Sunder Das he selected the players based on their performances and potential. Speaking to PTI, he said:

“There is an Emerging Asia Cup (U-23) also later this year and BCCI is looking for potential youngsters. The all-rounder camp is the brainchild of NA cricket boss WS Laxman to ensure we develop many multi-skilled players across all formats.

“Not all those summoned to the camp are pure SUVs. Some are hitting all-rounders and others are anything but. The idea is to harness the potential and help them hone their skills appropriately for the transition to the next grade.”

Arjun Tendulkar is also among the 20 players who have made the cut in the NCA camp. The lefty made his debut in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) for Mumbai Indians and was decent on the ball as well. He switched his team from Mumbai to Goa on the home circuit due to lack of opportunities with his previous team.

A BCCI senior source revealed that Arjun Tendulkar has been appointed as the senior selection committee believes he has potential. Speaking to PTI, speaking on condition of anonymity, he said:

“Arjun already has a century of the Rani Trophy. A left-arm pacer who bowls early to mid 80 mph and bats left-handed. He brings variety. It’s not just about numbers, it’s also about potential.

“He is 23 years old and has time to develop, is what this (senior selection) committee thinks. Otherwise, they would not have chosen it. Yes, he has only 12 wickets in seven first-class games, but he has shown a degree of skill and the managers will work on that.”

Abhishek Sharma, Harshit Rana and Chetan Sakariya are also among the players selected for the NCA camp.

Apart from Arjun Tendulkar, Punjab all-rounder Abhishek Sharma, Saurashtra pacer Chetan Sakariya and Delhi player Harshit Rana are also among the 20 players selected by the BCCI for the camp at the NCA in Bengaluru.

Goa’s all-rounder Mohit Redkar, Rajasthan’s Manav Suthar and Delhi’s Divij Mehra are also among the players who will be part of the camp.
