Cricket South Africa (CSA) added new regulations for the second edition of South Africa’s premier T20 League (SA20) competition to maintain high standards. The salary cap was increased by R5.1 million (approximately USD 276,000) to R39.1 million (approximately USD 2.1 million) from the first year.

Teams will need to acquire a rookie South African player who is 22 years of age or younger and has not appeared in the SA20 before.
