England head coach Brendon McCullum humorously responded to the controversy over Jonny Bairstow’s sacking during the second Test of the ashes 2023 series at Lord’s. Brendon McCullum stated that he doesn’t see members from England sharing a drink with the Australians any time soon.

Australian goalkeeper Alex Carey stunned Jonny Bairstow on Day 5 of the recently concluded Test match. Bairstow had left his streak after playing a delivery from pacer Cameron Green. Carey quickly picked up the ball and released the bails, and was ruled out by the third umpire.

Catches it and throws it right into the stumps – Pat Cummins

Australian skipper Pat Cummins defended Alex Carey’s actions, saying the incident was fair and within the rules. Cummins mentioned that Carey had noticed that Bairstow had left the crease earlier.

“That is the rule. That’s how I saw it,” Cummins said.

“I think Carey saw it a few balls before, there was no pause, he catches it and throws it straight to the stumps. Some people may disagree, but just like yesterday’s trap, the rule is there.” added.
