Asian Cup likely to get green light
The delay in announcing the World Cup schedule can be attributed to the ongoing split between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The BCCI has refused to travel to Pakistan for the 2023 Asian Cup, which has led to the PCB setting certain conditions for their participation. One of these conditions is not to play in Ahmedabad for political reasons.

Once all parties involved, especially Pakistan, give their approval to the selected venues, the ICC will publish the final schedule for the much-awaited World Cup 2023.
